Easter show blog

Easter show visit 2026 - blog

Happy belated easter cutie gals! Yesterday, I went with 🍎 to the Sydney Royal Easter Show! She only moved to Australia last year, so it was her first time at the show. I haven't posted for almost a month now, I'm really sorry! I'll be posting a tutorial by Sunday, I promise! I've been really busy with school, and then was really burnt out, so it's been tough for this little gal!

Before we get into the blog, I'll show you what I've been up to for the first half of the holidays.
On the first day of the holidays, I got a haircut!! I chopped of 34cm of hair and got a fringe. I'm still getting used to having short hair, but I do love my fringe~ I think my hairstyles will be much better now haha
I've also been drinking a lot of mate this holidays, but it's been making me sleepy for some reason...
The days leading up to easter, I'd been busy busy sewing my easter dress and bow. But here's my OOTD with me and Maomao!!
Thursday marked one year of me having her, and she's grown so much!
This was me and her at easter last year, when she was less than 2kg!! Now she's close to five.
Maomao really changed my life you see. She helped me find excitement and joy in my life when I hadn't been able to find it anywhere for more than half a decade.

Anyways, before I get to emotional, wasn't my hair so cute!
I did a classic, simple Hime hairstyle, but I think it was really elevated with my fringe, even though it's still too short...
But I forgot to smile in lots of my pictures, and didn't take a proper pic of my new dress sighs...Easter is just a very tiring time.
Anyways, on tuesday, I went out with a new friend, and I think I did my make so good!
I've been practicing a lot, and am getting better at droops and nose contour. For some reason my nose stripe doesn't show up here, I promise it's there.
I went for a monotone pink outfit on tuesday, of course I'm wearing that damn pink ruffle top again (it's literally the only slightly gal top I have - I need to make more...) and a skirt I thrifted. My bag is juicy and all of my jewellery was thrifted too!
Peep the nails that I applied on the train and then took off after an hour because I couldn't take my skirt off to use the bathroom.
I took some really good photos on this day haha. In this picture I was sitting on top of the handrails at the concourse and nearly fell through.
I'm also absolutely in LOVE with this pic I got. Silhouettes are so sexy~

And now what you've all been waiting for...
the Easter show blog!!!!
It was really hot on thursday, so I brought my fan with me, it's really cute and even matched my dress because they are both beige with rose & paris imagery.
First off, I met with
🍎 at chatswood, and we went to malatang at Uncle Chuan Chuan, super delicious but I put too much spice. 🍎 said my face was really pink, and I could feel the sweat on my lip. It was worth it though, so yummy.
Before & after hehe
Once we were done, we hopped on the metro to Macquarie park, where we took a bus to Olympic park. It was great, what would have normally been a 1+ hour trip was only 30 minutes!
I can't be nonchalant plsssssssssss
Despite the bus ride being less than 20 minutes,
🍎 still fell asleep on the ride. She could sleep through an entire war i think..
Upon arriving at the easter show, we both realised how hot it was...
🍎, in her super cute jumper, was surprisingly not melted by the time we found a little shade, but I was still burning up. Safe to say, thank goodness I brought my fan.
We first went to look at the flower pavilion, mainly because it was the first building we could find we were interested in.
We then saw some extremely skillful art, these oriental paintings are gorgeous, but I feel kind of strange calling it oriental, but that's just what the category is called I guess.
We were so surprised by the under 8 painting section, they are so incredibly talented, and these pictures perfectly capture these cute puppy dogs I think!!
🍎 really liked this painting, and I did too, it's silly and cute end extremely well done.
Cakes & sugar art was also fantastic, it's really hard to believe that people can do this with sugar!
Another part I really love about the arts and crafts competition at the easter show is the more niche or heritage crafts like porcelain painting! I wish this was more popular, the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, much too good to eat off of.
🍎 was really shocked when I told her all of these displays are made entirely out of raw agricultural products, they are quite unbelievable
I tried getting a cute picture, but all I can see is my bra strap digging into my red shoulder 😫
😫
Two cuties~
After we went to the displays, it was time for the best part of the show, the CWA scones!!!
I was so excited for
🍎 to try them, I was so relieved she enjoyed them (as if I made them LOL), now she wants me to make her some just like it!
This is my new favourite pose now
Scone-induced bliss~

Even though I'd been off my food since easter for whatever reason these scones were just what I needed nya~
And of course, you know me, when I saw the Transport NSW stand I had to drag 🍎 over.

We went to look at the merch they had, but after seeing the prices, I decided I needed to become a bus driver to pay for it.
We managed to get so many goodies at the public transport stand, my favourite was the badge ofc, but also the cycle lane sunscreen keychain is perfect for my school bag. 10/10 would recommend.
Another freebie we got were these foldable metro activities, we built them while watching the woodchopping. They were surprisingly hard to make, and I ripped mine unfortunately...
And to be honest, I don't understand the woodchopping competition...It's funny how it's an actual sport.
After the woodchopping, we rushed over to the alpaca & llama pavilion before they closed at 4pm. We dashed in and around all the carnival rides, and it was so loud.
Something I was really disappointed about though, was the amount of AI being used by the tacky food stands such as chip on a stick and fairy floss. AI generated designs, banners, promotional videos and even playlists.
I'm so serious.
They all seemed to have their own AI generated albums playing, and I was laughing horrified.
All my worries were pushed away though when we got to the gorgeous llamas and alpacas.
These are the sweetest, most adorable little babies ever!!!!!!! I love them!!!!!!!
At 3:56, we got to walk an alpaca, just 4 minutes before they packed up for the day!
This cutie was violet, she was very nice and a very good walker, even though she'd been giving out walks all day.
We got our picture, and we were ready to head off 😂
Laural - the Easter cow!
Before we took off, we sat down and watched an amateur cow milking competition with a surprising amount of cheating! There was six teams, each representing the six types of dairy cows in Australia, and they had five minutes to fill up a jug of milk.
However, some teams started early, and others capped their jugs with extra liquids from hidden "cooling packs".
Once it was all over, we lined up for the shuttle, and found ourselves back at Chatswood. Of course, 🍎 slept the whole bus ride, and when I got to the station, my train was canceled - great! The irony of the fact PT Nsw wants to charge $40 for a train branded t-shirt and then have half the trains canceled was not lost on me, but I was okay with resting at the station for a while~

This morning, I tried using a hair lacquer instead of hairspray to keep my hair in place all day, this was a big mistake though! it didn't hold any better than normal really, and it's not brush out either, so there's still residue left now...
I looked really scary when I took it out.

count your days, niche aldi haircare dupe brand thingy...

Thanks so much for reading cutie gals! Have you ever been to the Sydney Royal Easter Show? If you have, comment what's your favourite part. If you've never been, comment what you'd like to do, or if your country has their equivalent!

See you soon, cutie gals 💘
