Happy New Yuri 2026! + Christmas Haul 2025

Happy New Year, everyone!! Finally, it's the end of the holiday season 😅 while it's a lovely way to end the year, I'm pretty tired by the end of it...haha

Hence is why I still haven't posted my Christmas haul from LAST YEAR 😆, so here's everything I got!

The big gift!!! - Elna 793Y4 Heavy Duty Overlocker 

So this year, I finally got an overlocker!! I'm so happy and excited to have it now. I'm currently making a sukapan, and it just makes gathering and finishing edges sooooo easy. My mother managed to get this on sale from Spotlight for about $350, even though it's normally $765, so I was super lucky!! It is a really fantastic machine; the box was absolutely MASSIVE, but in actuality, it's pretty compact. 

One thing, though, everyone always says, "oh I hate rethreading my machine, it's so awful and such a pain to do" - Perhaps it's just my machine, but it is not that hard to rethread. Which was a massive relief.

Simply ADORABLE Neapolitan shoes

My grandmother gave me these super cute!!!! platform shoes from 42Lolita and I love them soooo much! They fit perfectly, thank goodness (42Lolita's shoe sizing is generally pretty accurate) and even accommodate my pretty wide feet, which I was pretty worried about. I'll definitely be wearing these when I go out because they are so cute!!!!!!!!

This year was a pretty shoe-heavy year, I must admit! But these heels are so comfortable, even though the heel is so high, it doesn't feel that way because there is a fairly large toe platform, and like other shoes, the sizing was very accurate because these were also from 42Lolita.

Anyways, my aunty gave me these slippers. I had them already, but put them on my Christmas wishlist again because mine were falling apart after a year's wear, day and night haha.

They know me too well. My aunty also got me a kitty cat mug and some lovely cotton pyjamas with some kitties on them, too

A little quilting kit with lots of handy goodies inside!

From my other aunty, I got this fantastic little quilting kit. Inside there is an A4 cutting mat, a rotary cutter with 5 spare blades, sewing clips - which I'd really been needing, pins, a quilting ruler, which is super handy and also a craft knife with some extra blades! I really liked using the A4 cutting mat, but it was a bit small, so I ordered an A3 one, which will be super helpful because I am planning to make a chiffon top soon and you need a rotary cutter to cut easily.

Sweet little extra lip glosses

The last gift of the day was this super sweet Mecca gift set, which has two glitter lip glosses, one a light, peachy shimmer and the other a bit of a darker nude. I love glitter, so I suspect I'll be using the peachy shimmer a lot in particular.

Normally, I don't do New Year's Resolutions, but it's my first year having a blog, so perhaps I'll use this chance to motivate myself.

This year, I want to buy less and spend less money. After the Christmas sales, I ended up getting a lot, and drained my bank a fair bit~ so next year, I want to work on using what I have, buying second hand and saving. 

I also want to become a more disciplined person this year. In the last six months, I really noticed myself sort of slacking off and being a bit more lazy. I am pretty sure a fair bit of this is just part of being a teenager, but I want to get myself into a position where I do things when they need to be done, such as cleaning my room or taking care of my kitties.

Part of this is limiting my screen time...Of course, in the holidays, one generally does spend a pretty fair amount of their day on their screens, but being away from social media is really important for my health, I think, so I'm going to begin scheduling my screen time in hopes of lowering it.

My last, and probably easiest New Year's Resolution, is to get back into dancing. I used to always be learning K-pop dances and dancing around the house, but that disappeared this year, so I want to get back into that, for my health and happiness.
